Water storage silos for sewage treatment
To support a multi-stage treatment process
Solution
The silos have a diameter of 7.28 meters and a height of 4.64 meters, and are part of an innovative pilot for sustainable wastewater treatment. To guarantee water quality and minimize odor nuisance, the silos are covered with Buwadomes: a covering system consisting of a steel frame with a PVC-reinforced tensioned cover.
Application
The water storage silos support a multi-stage treatment process where sewage is treated locally. The installation is focused on removing micro-pollutants, such as pharmaceutical residues and chemical substances, and on the reuse of water and raw materials.
Result
The test plant contributes to future-proof, decentralized sewage treatment. In the long term, approximately 800 homes will be connected to the local treatment system in the pilot, making Oosterwold a model project for innovative water treatment solutions.
